After the conclusion of the concerts in July 2013, Victor Rathnayaka could be seen at concerts of virtuous songs with the accompaniment of 3 or 4 singers/ He sings 5 or 6 songs at such concerts and updates his singing while preserving his relation with his fans.
What is he offering to them on 13th December 2014?
Victor enters the singing world in 1964 and completes 50 years in Sri Lankan song and the music world. He wishes to entertain the audience not with his usual Sinhala songs which he is accustomed to for 50 years but with a rendition of Hindi songs. He will enthrall the audience with singing his melodious Sinhala songs with an adaption of Hindi meaning. Several popular singers both male and female will add colour to the evening with their contribution of songs.
Once when Victor Rathnayaka went to Singapore for a concert it was proposed that he would sing some songs in the language used there. One language was Hindi, as a youngster he tried to sing "Mere Kahani" but he did not sing Hindi songs in Singapore. Immediately he got his Sinhala songs translated into Hindi and sang them enticingly. The entire audience was mesmerised with this novel experience. After decades of that incident today he celebrates his half century in music by singing the Hindi version of his songs translated by Yashoda Wimaladharma and Sunil Chandra Wickramasinghe. As mentioned earlier the concert includes songs by several other popular artists as well.
We sincerely wish that with this concert of Hindi songs the occasion of celebrating 50 years of musical life of Victor Rathnayaka will be a memorable one. And we are proudly announcing that we have got the support from National Lottery Board, Sri Lanka and Kanrich Finance to make this event success and outstanding. They have agreed to give their support in digital media and traditional mediums where the audience get more information and interaction.
